John Napier 1550-1617
John Napier was born
at Merchiston Castle in Edinburgh and Napier Universiry is named after

and first started the use if the decimal point. He also invented war
machines including the forerunner of the armoured tank and the
submarine.
As well as being a prominent mathematician it is
believed that he was a magician who dabbled in Alchemy and Necromancy.
