St Columba was born in 521 in Donegal. Ireland.  He is brought Christianity to Scotland and founded the monastery at Iona and converted the Picts. Iona is still a religious community to this day. Many Scottish Kings are buried there as is John Smith, the former leader of the UK Labour Party.
